Live Bait Fishing on SNAGS.

Prawns or Baitfish,
This is the discussion at nearly every boat ramp every Saturday Morning. Some discussions can lead to fairly heated debates as fisherman try to pin the tale on what the big fish will be biting on this weekend. Prawns would have to be favorite amongst most, but it seems that the Monster Fish are caught on large live fish baits. Like you’ve herd 100 times before Big BAIT Big FISH.

SHOAL fishing with SHARKS

I can honestly say if I had a dollar for every time a shark has taken a fish before I could land it I would just about have enough to retire on. The Red Emperor shoals of Townsville, North Queensland must be the toughest fishing around. If you are talented enough and can endure the tug of war on 50lb braid line of these massive Red’s you are faced with a school of nasty Hammerhead SHARKS. They can absolutely put you tackle to the test. I have seen rods bend and break and 100’s of meters of line pealed of reels in a matter of seconds. But we keep going back for more.

Crabbing

Just wanting to know if anyone has any favorites for crab pot bait? I have used chicken in the past but one of my mad mates have told me that kangaroo works a treat. Has anyone had luck with Roo bones before??
